Child Protection

Course Overview

This course has been developed for people currently working in or entering the early childhood education industry focusing on the Legal Framework of Child Protection.

This course has been designed to expand students’ understanding of the legislation and to equip them with the right tools to better provide support to children and their families dealing with situations that are or a potential threat to a child’s physical and/or mental wellbeing.

This course will focus on:

  • Understanding the legal and ethical issues for child protection
  • Duty of care
  • Child protection legislation in Australia
  • Best practice – supporting children at risk and their family

After completion of this course, students will be equipped with a better understanding of their duties and the best approach to dealing with issues relating to child safety.

The delivery will be online and self-paced in our student learning portal.

This is an industry-endorsed course (NOT nationally recognised training and assessment leading to the issuance of an AQF [Australian Qualifications Framework] certification/qualification). This is a customised short course designed to upskill you in a specific area.
