CHCPRT025 Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk
Course Overview
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify children and young people who are at risk and report in line with legislative requirements. This work occurs within legislative and policy frameworks and carries a duty of care responsibility.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, Lead Institute has the following entry requirements:
Applicants should have a genuine interest in education, community services, and/or working with young people.
- They must be at least 16 years old and will need to complete an eligibility interview, demonstrating adequate language, literacy, numeracy, and digital competency.
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer.
- Internet access and basic computer skills to engage in online learning, complete assessments, and submit tasks.
Additionally, students are required to obtain a Working with Children Check – WWCC.

- CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support
- CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

Work Placement/Simulated Environment
To achieve proficiency in this unit of competency, the individual must demonstrate the ability to implement work practices which support the protection of at least two children and young people including: complying with regulations, legislation and duty of care responsibilities, employing child focused and ethical work practices to uphold the rights of children and young people, maintain confidentiality and identify and respond to concerns in the protection of children and young people.
Lead Institutes Trainer/Assessor will collaborate with the learner to determine the best option to assess the student under these requirements. This maybe through simulated role play or workplace assessment.
