Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings. They complete general administrative as well as operational tasks to support students with learning under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. Work requires use of discretion and judgment within the boundaries of established policies and procedures. Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by state/Territory legislation.

Entry Requirements

  • This program has an entry requirement of year 9 Reading, Writing and Comprehension level and/or (ACSF Level 2)
  • Access to the internet and basic computer skills for online learning and assessment acitivites & submission.
  • Eligible to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check)

Training Delivery

Blended ( Classroom + Online + Vocational Placement)

This qualification has been structured for a ‘blended’ delivery, consisting of 14hrs per/week face-to-face classroom sessions (generally 2 days per/week) + Online & home study + 100 hrs vocational placement.

Classroom Delivery

Two days per week attending our campus to learn face-to-face in one of our learning spaces and simulated environments.

VET in School

Available for Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 at schools consisting of two days per week, attending school campus to learn face-to-face.

Assessment Methods

All Lead Institute’s programs consist of both ‘Formative and Summative assessment, this is to help confirm the student is gaining the required skills and knowledge to meet the training package requirements.

  • Formative Assessment – This assessment is completed throughout the ‘Learning Journey’
  • Summative Assessment – This assessment is done at the end of the learning journey to confirm the required skills and knowledge have been met.

Duration

Lead Institute has developed this qualification to be delivered over a 12 month period, but students will have up-to 18 months to complete this qualification.

Vocational Placement

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a minimum 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.

Investment (Course fees)

This qualification can be paid in multiple ways to help you achieve your qualification sooner, these are:

  • Paid in full
  • Paid in instalments

Full course investment is $165.00 per/unit (X’s 15 units) or a once off payment of $2,575.00 (full fee)
(Inclusive $100.00 non-refundable Enrolment Fee)

Students are provided with the following:

  • On successful completion – Qualification and Unit results
  • On partial completion – A Statement of Attainment for unit/s completed
