Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia.

Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of services operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other educators. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

  • Hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and care or; CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and care
  • Year 10 Reading, Writing and Comprehension level and/or (ACSF Level 3)
  • Access to internet and basic computer skills for online learning and assessment activities & submission
  • Eligible to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check)

Qualification Pathways

After successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to enrol into other Diploma qualifications and/or a CHC62015 – Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management.

Training Delivery

Blended (Classroom + Online + Vocational Placement)

This qualification has been structured for a ‘blended’ delivery, consisting of 15-38 hrs/week face-to-face classroom sessions (generally 5 days/week) + Online & home study + 280 hrs vocational placement.

Classroom Delivery

Two days per week attending our campus to learn face-to-face in one of our learning spaces and simulated environments.

Assessment Methods

All Lead Institute’s programs consist of both ‘Formative and Summative’ assessment, this is to help confirm the student is gaining the required skills and knowledge to meet the training package requirements.

  • Formative assessment – This assessment is completed throughout the ‘Learning Journey’
  • Summative assessment – This assessment is done at the end of the learning journey to confirm the required skills and knowledge have been met.

Duration

Lead Institute has developed this qualification to be delivered over an 18 month period, but students will have up to 24 months to complete this qualification.

Vocational Placement

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of at least 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.

Investment (Course fees)

This qualification can be paid in multiple ways to help you achieve your qualification sooner, these are:

  • Paid in full
  • Paid in instalments

Full course investment is $350.00 per/unit (X’s 15 units), or a once-off payment of $5,350 (full fee).

(Inclusive of $100.00 non-refundable enrolment fee)

Students are provided with the following:

  • On successful completion – Qualification and Unit results
  • On partial completion – A Statement of Attainment for unit/s completed
